Publishing rules
Publishing on Cordanda is free. These rules keep the directory useful and trustworthy for people looking for an activity.
Last updated: October 9, 2026
This is a translation. In case of any discrepancy, the Spanish version prevails.
What can be published
- Real outdoor activities within Ecuador, in seven categories: Hiking and trekking, Mountaineering, Sports (land, water and air), Tours (full days and multi-day packages), Courses (schools and courses with levels), Experiences (wildlife, communities, hot springs, stargazing) and Volunteering.
- If it includes transportation, several places or nights, it's a Tour. If you teach something with levels, it's a Course. If it's a single activity, choose its type.
- Each listing must have its main activity, a date (or “date to be arranged”), a departure point, a price, a cover photo and a direct contact for the organizer.
Truthful information
- The published price is what the participant will pay; if there are separate costs (entrance fees, gear rental, transport), list them under “Not included”.
- Describe the difficulty, duration, gear needed and requirements honestly.
- Keep dates up to date: pause or cancel the activity if it changes or there are no spots left.
- Publish each activity only once. For new dates, add them to the same activity or copy it.
Photos
- Up to 10 photos per activity. They must be yours or used with their author's permission, and show the real place or activity.
- Don't use photos from other organizers, unlicensed stock images, or images with advertising text or contact details on top.
- Don't publish photos of identifiable people without their consent, or of minors without authorization from their legal guardians.
Organizer's responsibility
- Deliver what was published and comply with the regulations that apply to your activity, including permits for protected areas, guide licenses, tourism registrations and insurance when the law requires them.
- Treat participants with respect and agree clearly on payments, changes and cancellations.
- You don't need to be verified to publish, but you may not imply that you have a verification or license you don't have.
Not allowed
- False information, misleading dates or prices, or impersonating another person or organization.
- Illegal or unsafe activities, or activities that harm the environment or wildlife.
- Offensive, discriminatory or sexual content.
- Using Cordanda to sell other products or to promote anything other than the activity.
- Contacts that don't belong to the activity's organizer.
What happens if they're broken
Anyone can report an activity or a profile. We review every report and, depending on the case, we ask for a correction, pause or suspend the activity, or suspend the profile or the account. A suspended activity loses its featured status.
